PhotoResizer

GROWING

A fast, privacy-focused image resizing utility on photoresizer.in (1k+ daily clicks) and paid US visa photo micro-SaaS on photoresizer.us ($100+ revenue) that inspired VisaReadyNow.

What is it?

PhotoResizer comprises two interconnected projects:

  1. photoresizer.in: A free client-side image utility to resize, crop, and compress images to strict byte and dimension requirements (e.g., < 50KB, 200x230 px) directly in-browser.
  2. photoresizer.us: A paid US passport and visa photo compliance tool that validates biometric proportions and replaces backgrounds for official US visa/passport forms.

The Origin: An Accidental .us Purchase

While registering photoresizer.in in early 2026, I followed a tutorial for a promotional .us domain on Namecheap. Due to a missing coupon input on the final screen, I accidentally bought photoresizer.us without a discount.

Instead of abandoning the domain, I investigated ways to monetize it. Competitor research into VisaFoto and PhotoGov revealed enormous US search demand for compliant passport photos. I spent months analyzing US State Department photo specifications and built a specialized US visa/passport photo tool on photoresizer.us.

Monetization & The April Payment Loss

  • April 4–5, 2026: The US tool went live. Early traffic attempted to purchase photos, but transactions failed because international currency settlement was disabled in Razorpay.
  • April 6, 2026: Razorpay approved international card acceptance, and I secured my first paying customer. The prototype went on to generate $100+ USD in early sales before full-time job commitments at Collegedunia slowed development.
  • Evolution to VisaReadyNow: Validating customer willingness to pay on photoresizer.us directly prompted the creation of VisaReadyNow to support 190+ countries globally.

SEO & Multi-Engine Search Performance on photoresizer.in

1. Bing Webmaster Tools (March – October 2026)

Bing was the initial primary growth engine for photoresizer.in:

  • Total Organic Clicks: 53.7K (53,700 clicks)
  • Total Search Impressions: 710.9K (710,900 impressions)
  • Average CTR: 7.56%
  • Growth Pattern: Indexed in March 2026 with 100–300 clicks/day, climbing to sustained peaks of 400–600 clicks/day and 6k–8k daily impressions during exam submission cycles.

2. Google Search Console Breakout (September 2026)

While Bing drove steady daily volume, Google indexed quietly with low baseline traffic (~10–20 clicks/day) until late September 2026:

  • Total Breakout Clicks: 4,622+ web search clicks within days of the algorithm recognizing page performance signals.
  • The Hockey-Stick Spike (Sept 22–25): Traffic spiked vertically from 20 clicks/day to over 1,000+ clicks/day and 25,000+ daily search impressions, verified by Google Analytics anomaly alerts.
  • Rankings: Reached Top 5 search positions on Google for high-volume photo resizing and compression keywords.

3. Programmatic Exam Pages vs Evergreen Clustering

  • The Seasonality Challenge: Targeted specification pages for Indian government exams (e.g. DSSSB exam photo resizer) drove rapid spikes during registration windows, but experienced sharp traffic drops once deadlines passed.
  • The Solution: Restructured content clusters around evergreen pixel dimensions (200x230, 300x300) and universal file size limits (< 50KB, < 20KB), providing consistent year-round traffic across both search engines.

Current Experiments

Following my departure from Collegedunia on July 31, 2026, I completed a major UI/UX and SEO overhaul on photoresizer.us to mirror the cleaner design of VisaReadyNow, currently generating 100–200 daily impressions on Bing as rankings rebuild.
